Choices:
By Mark DePugh
Whether we realize it or not, our lives are filled with choices.
Choices of what types of food we will eat, the clothing we will wear, our occupation of
work, the friends we have, the person we will date/marry or our path of education. We make
choices each and every morning as we begin a new day. Whether we will eat breakfast in the
morning, comb our hair or even how fast we will drive to work
. Or maybe we will
choose to walk (probably not).
We also make many choices as hunters. Will I hunt with a bow or gun.
Will I hunt deer and/or turkey. Will I abide by game regulations. Will I hunt with sights
or a scope. Will I hunt from a stand or a ground blind. Will I use commercial scents or
just hunt with the wind. Will I grunt or rattle. Will I choose to use a mouth or box call,
and the list goes on. One might say, Wow
We have to make an awful lot of
choices. The answer
. You are exactly right!
God
has given each of us the latitude to make choices. We make thousands each day. Good or
bad, big or little
We must make them! When we consider our spiritual life we can
ask
Will I go to church this week? Will I pray and seek Gods will in my life?
Will I lead my family in Gods way? Will I recognize and accept Gods grace as
my hope for salvation? Will I choose to share Gods love with others?
Out
of all of our life choices, none is more important than the choice we make concerning our
relationship with God. One can actually look at a persons life as-a series of
choices over a period of time. The choices we make most definitely affect our outcome. As
Christians we need to intentionally invite Him to be a part of our life each and every
day. When Christ is centered in our heart and life, He becomes involved in all of our life
choices. Gods amazing grace and presence makes an incredible difference in our life
and the choices that we make!
What will you do with the man called Jesus? -- Your choice!
